In His Refuge

Welcome to Refuge
A Place of Hope, Healing, and Connection

In today's world, anxiety, depression, and mental health struggles are affecting our teens like never before. Since 2020, global anxiety levels for adolescents have doubled, with hospital visits for self-harm, depression, and psychiatric emergencies skyrocketing. The rise of social media and smartphones has created an environment where teens are spending an average of 5 hours a day online, often trapped in an endless cycle of digital content. Snapchat, Instagram, and YouTube dominate their screens, leading to a staggering 35+ hours of content weekly. This compulsive engagement with technology is disrupting sleep, decreasing physical activity, and creating a greater sense of disconnection from family, friends, and real-life experiences.

We can no longer ignore the toll that excessive screen time and a lack of true connection are taking on our kids. But there is hope. At Refuge, we believe that the Holy Spirit, the Word of God, and a supportive community can help lead our teens to healing and wholeness. We are committed to guiding families through the struggles of today’s digital world, helping teens find peace, purpose, and an unshakable identity in Jesus Christ.

Parents, together we can create a safe space where our children feel valued, seen, and supported—free from the pressures of the online world. Let’s come together to break the cycle, restore balance, and walk alongside our teens toward a healthy, happy, and holy relationship with Christ.

Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Therefore by their fruits you will know them. Matthew 7:17-23 (NKJV)

Refuge changed my child's life for the better. I thought we lost them but through Christ they have been found!
